Professional Woodlice Treatment

Woodlice are harmless crustaceans that feed on decaying wood and other organic material.

If you are seeing woodlice in your home or business, it can be a sign of excess moisture or damp areas. While woodlice do not bite, spread disease, or damage your property, an infestation can be a nuisance and may point to underlying damp issues that should be addressed and that can attract other pests.

Our specialist pest control experts are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide fast, effective woodlice treatment and give you advice on preventing them from coming back.

How We Remove Woodlice

Outdoors, woodlice live under stones, logs, and garden debris. Indoors, they are usually found in dark and damp spaces like bathrooms, kitchens, or basements. The odd woodlouse isn’t a sign to panic, but if you find them in your house in any significant numbers this can mean a possible infestation and as they don’t like warm areas, it’s likely you’ll have a damp issue too.

Able pest controllers are qualified to RSPH Level 2 as a minimum and are qualified to use professional pesticides. We identify the infestation and apply a water-based insecticide to treat the area. To help prevent them from returning we’ll advise you on any underlying issues that brought about the infestation. We might also suggest moving any nearby decaying outside materials that are attracting the woodlice.

Inspection
We identify the areas where woodlice are entering and the damp conditions that are attracting them.
Targeted Treatment
We use safe water-based insecticide treatments in key areas indoors and outdoors to remove the woodlice infestation.
Moisture and Entry Control
We advise on fixing leaks, improving ventilation, and sealing cracks or gaps to keep woodlice out.
Follow‑Up if Required
In cases of persistent activity, we might advise further visits to ensure the infestation is fully resolved.

Signs of a Woodlice Infestation
Frequent Sightings in Damp Rooms
The most obvious sign is seeing woodlice regularly inside your property. They are most commonly found in bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and utility rooms where moisture levels are higher and there’s a higher risk of leaks.
Clusters in Dark, Hidden Areas
Woodlice often gather in groups under sinks, along skirting boards, behind appliances, or in basement corners. These clusters are a clear indication that the conditions are suitable for them to thrive.
Activity During Wet Weather
If you notice more woodlice entering after heavy rain, it usually means they are moving indoors to escape the wet or cold outside. This is common in autumn and early spring.
Woodlice Near External Walls and Doors
Finding woodlice near doors, window frames, or around external walls suggests they are entering through small gaps or cracks. This can also point to decaying leaves, wood, or other organic material attracting them near your home.
