Moles Pest Control Services

Moles, due to being nocturnal and living underground, are the type of pests that are rarely seen. However, their daily digging causes visible damage to gardens, flowerbeds, fields, and lawns.

Mole Pest Control Solutions

By burrowing, moles create tunnels and molehills that leave the ground uneven, unstable and unsightly, forming tripping hazards. For this reason, mole pest control is essential.

At Able, we treat moles using approved traps to catch the moles. We will then arrange for a follow-up visit to remove the traps and any moles that are caught.

Don’t search for ‘Moles pest control near me’ go with Able, for your mole solutions.

Protecting your garden from moles
Creating a barrier
If moles are causing significant damage to your garden, flower beds, or vegetable patches, one potential solution is to dig a trench at least two feet deep around the perimeter and fill it with rocks or wire mesh. This acts as a physical barrier, making it difficult for moles to tunnel into the protected area. However, this method can be labour-intensive and may not always be effective.
Getting rid of their food source
Moles love grubs, which are another garden pest that burrows through your soil and damages grass. By eliminating grubs, you can address two problems at once, removing a food source for moles and protecting your garden from both pests.
Pet Deterrents
Dogs and cats, or even just their noise or scent, can scare away moles or deter them from coming in the first place. Some breeds of dogs have natural digging instincts and might seek out moles. Cats can catch them too. But as moles live underground, it’s likely to be an additional deterrent, rather than a solution.
Ultrasonic devices
Ultrasonic devices can make things uncomfortable for moles by emitting high frequency sound waves. These sound waves can’t be heard by human or pet ears but can work as a deterrent for moles, however, this is often only a temporary solution as the moles become accustomed to the sound made over time.
The signs of a mole infestation
Raised ridges
One common sign of mole activity is raised ridges across your garden, which are caused by the mole tunnels underneath the soil.
Molehills
Molehills are cone-shaped mounds of loose soil that moles create as they dig tunnels.
Discoloured or dead grass
When creating mole tunnels, moles can disturb and dry out plant roots, which leads to discoloured grass.
Loose or squishy soil
The tunnelling of moles can create loose or squishy soil, which is a clear indication that you have moles in your outdoor space.
